C&S Tactical Allocation

Goal

The strategy aims to capture long-term capital appreciation through broad participation in rising equity markets, while seeking to preserve capital in bear markets.

Investment Strategy

The strategy takes an offense-first approach: the portfolio is generally fully invested in equities, selected from a universe that is screened and ranked by quantitative criteria and then analysed in detail. A quantitative risk indicator is evaluated regularly. If it signals elevated risk of a larger market decline, the portfolio can shift out of equities into cash. Shifts out of equities are intended to be rare.

Portfolio Profile

The portfolio is actively managed with a concentrated selection of stocks and seeks alpha from active stock selection. The Lipper Flexible Portfolio Funds Index serves as the reference. The reference portfolio is subject to predefined risk limits.

Liquidity Management

The strategy invests in liquid, exchange-traded equities and can move into cash when its risk indicator so requires.
